I book a room and have booked quite a few runs for touring acts. IOTM serves both sides in a great way! I booked a band's first tour in the mid-1990s. (yeah, I'm old) It was out of control phone bills, tons of cash to mail press kits and amazingly tough to reach venue owners & agents. (Kids today don't realize how good they have it - ha!) What a difference 20 years and this site have made! From weekend regional runs to 6 week tours, I've relied on this site to find suitable rooms for original artists and have opened the bands I work with up to awesome new rooms, the elusive Monday night guarantee and some fantastic co-bills. The contact info, links and descriptions are almost always spot-on. Meanwhile, I've been booking a room in my hometown for nearly 6 years and have booked quite a few acts that use this site. While I've only used the 'show availability' feature a couple of times, the response generated has been fantastic. Most importantly, when in contact with the site owners for whatever reason, the response has always been quick and professional. My efforts at booking shows in the past have gone as follows. I send out a bunch of emails to venues and get zero responses. Somewhat out of desperation I consulted with Indie On The Move a few weeks ago. They helped me refine my pitch, after which I decided to use their services to contact 7 markets. Within a day of sending out an email campaign with Indie On The Move I started getting responses from venues. Two weeks in and I've got shows booked for the next few months. These guys are super knowledgeable about what talent buyers are looking for and very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

IOTM is singlehandedly responsible for our last two tours. Not using them would have been like throwing darts at the map in the dark. As a result we've increased our fanbase, sold more merch and booked better and better shows.

But what really made it worth it wasn't them sending out emails for me. It was the knowledge from an experienced touring artist, that has been through all of this before. Small things like how to find local bands, or what words to avoid in emails. These are priceless things that I will use for the rest of my life. I can't say whether the cost is worth it to you, but for me I'd spend it over again three times as much for the courage, wisdom, and great ideas I've managed to glean out of an hour long phone conversation and a pile of emails. Indie on the Move is a great tool for the independent artist, bands and labels to connect with people and get opportunities to get live shows not just in their city but around it and even further. I worked with Kyle who was very knowledgeable about marketing in the music industry especially when it comes to dealing with venues.

IOTM is wayyy ahead of every other booking listing or service out there. After having used The Indie Bible($120) and Musicians Atlas($40per month) in the past for booking my band and others I found those resources unnecessary after I started using IOTM. With more up to date contact info, the rating system and reviews are awesome resources to have, it's almost like Yelp for venues.. Sick. On top of that Kyle is great to work with and did an awesome job for us with the DIT campaign. If you're a band just getting out of your region you'll find this site invaluable. I was able to book a national tour for a Hip Hop act with the help indieonthemove.com's DIT booking service. Kyle, the founder of IOTM, was super helpful and easy to work with. The initial consultation alone helped us with bookings immediately. He made key suggestions on tour routing, finding openers for each market and how to improve our online presentation so that when the venue talent buyers visit our website they have everything they need to green light a show. Most importantly Kyle tailored our booking pitch perfectly. Once the booking process began I was overwhelmed with the number of responses. The DIT service is great because not only do you have someone with years of touring experience acting as a mentor but through the process you also gain valuable knowledge for future bookings.
