I just wanted to let everyone know how pleased I am with the assistance I've received through IOTM's DIT Tour Booking Experience...I've done my own booking for smaller tours, but wanted to save some time and make sure I was being as effective as possible with my approach. Kyle has been an invaluable resource in helping me perfect my booking inquiry email, helping me route out a tour, and most importantly, in setting up the initial set of venues to approach and sending them the inquiries. The proof is in the pudding, and with his assistance through the DIT Tour Booking Experience, the response rate from clubs increased tremendously, which in turn minimized the number of holes in my schedule that I need to follow up on further. I've already booked nine shows, only a few weeks after he sent out the pitch letters to the clubs he identified for me. Previously, doing my own booking, and using a pitch letter I composed on my own, it took several emails, many phone calls, and months of time to book the same number of dates. Now if only it were easier to get appropriate local support on weeknights...:) IOTM has helped me here too -- their Availabilities feature is great. I'm just wishing more local acts were interested in playing weeknight gigs...but I do understand the issues involved...:) Nevertheless, I highly recommend IOTM and their DIT Tour Booking Experience -- it's a very cost-effective timesaver! -Scott
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/sesmlsLike many of you all i'm about as indie/DIY as it comes. My manager Maurice and I have a ton on our plates when it comes to releasing new music and generally the most time consuming is booking shows. It's worth every dime to use IOTM pro services because the process of researching venues and subsequently pitching to them can be extremely time consuming and these guys take that off your hands so you can do the easy part which is getting to the responses and negotiate the deal. Are there drawbacks? Sure there is. If you're like me and you just wanna play shows you likely will have pitches sent out to A LOT of venues that may not be a good fit for your music but that said I have the luxury of being able to fly in dates so we can field offers from around the country and pick and choose the best ones. As of writing this, i've booked about 12 dates and If you go to my tour calendar i can assure you it's been booked using IOTM services and i've used every single one of them. We've used more expensive options like Pollstar's directory (which is still useful for international dates) but nothing beats the ease and cost effectiveness of IOTM pro services. And in comparison, one show even with a "decent" turnout pays for the services. http://www.iamqdot.com
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/PopUpI manage and book for an independent Southern Rock/Country artist here in Nashville. I've been using IOTM for venue research for over a year now, and it has been a huge help. Recently I decided to fine tune my sales pitch and come up with something eye catching and informative for venues that was clear and concise. I worked with an IOTM rep who walked me through my old pitch and helped me create something just what I was looking for...all for a small fee of $35. The first day I put the new and improved pitch together I booked a show in a new market I had been trying to break into. The percentage I'll make for booking that one show recoups the $35 spent for my consultation. I definitely recommend you use this service as it is helpful and super inexpensive for the results you'll see after putting your improved pitch together. -Chance-
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/cmgray85IOTM has been a helpful resource in filling our tours with shows in all the markets we need to hit. Thanks to IOTM, we no longer deal with too many wasted days off or crazy drives!
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/wildadriaticI spend a lot of time on IOTM. It has so many great resources from , venues, classifieds, festival, and articles that have all helped me build my career. It's easy to find bars and clubs, but on IOTM I can find out a lot more about the venues like, genre, size, and all that helps me see if I will be a good fit, that really saves me a lot of time! All of the contact info and booking info is right there in one place, and thats also a huge time saver! Thank you for such a great website for artists like myself and many others! Jason Wells
We use IOTM for everything. The list of venues is unmatched and it's one of the best tools out there for artists looking to get their name out and play shows. We've used it for all of our booking, including a recent 2 month tour of the Northeast US, and we continue to use it to find gigs to play, bands to play with, and venues to play at. I don't know where we would be as a band if we didn't have this site. As a band, the way we make money is to play shows and get more fans. Indie on the Move has helped us make a name for ourselves and bring our music to people, while making lasting relationships with new fans and new friends. Thanks IOTM for being awesome and helping us live our dream!
This is Scott from the Kansas City rock band ALICE SWEET ALICE (http://www.alicesweetalice.com). As I'm currently the only band member working in the music industry full time, I've been given the task of not only running all of the bands ever-increasing social media network - but the task of getting Alice Sweet Alice out in this crazy world to split a few eardrums. Most recently, I put together two last minute jaunts in the Midwest USA, relying just about completely on Indie On The Move. The new QuickPitch mailing feature is simply INCREDIBLE, and has saved me TONS of time - anyone that hasn't used it is really missing out. Another great thing about IOTM is the fact that any sort of marketing/promotion you need to do is easily done using the resources here for press and radio. It really is a one-stop-shop and has become invaluable to myself as Band Rep, and has allowed me to get the job done and be able to spend more time online communicating with fans. Thanks Indie On The Move for everything that you do!!
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/alicesweetaliceIOTM is incredibly extensive and always up to date. The fact that I can connect with other touring musicians puts it so far ahead of any other resource. For DIY musicians looking to tour- this should be your first stop.
https://www.indieonthemove.com/users/Austin_MillerBy now as an independent artist, you should know that if you're not using IOTM, then you're probably not touring. We have loved this site since the day it launched and have used it for years to hit the road organized, prepared and confident. Everything we need to put together a national tour is all in one place, easily accessible and free. Simply put: We couldn't imagine touring or an independent music career without them. The most important aspect for us to continue to work in this business is to recognize and support great people. We've made lifelong connections through IOTM and are proud to call Bryan and Kyle and all the folks at IOTM friends. Thank you for having the vision to know that we all needed this amazing resource before we did. Justin Stang and Jim Elenteny Science!
