Dynamic, Artist, and Entertainer Tia Dae, is a 2015 Daytime Emmy Nominee/Nominated Award Winner and Award winning vocalist. Soulful singer, witty actress and captivating singer-song writer, Tia Dae was born and raised in Washington, D.C., aspiring to be an entertainer since the bright age of 5 years old. Often reared and pruned by her late grandmother to sing and imitate nearby neighbors, she naturally took center stage and left the viewer’s wanting more. The favorable response ignited Tia Dae’s passion to be a superstar. Dae was first discovered by local talent manager, William Mobley, at the age of 15. Mobley was captivated with DAE’s raw talent; riveting vocal ranges and powerful bursts of soul cries wrapped in a song. By the late 90’s, DAE began building a local buzz around the DC Metro area, performing covers on songs by Mary J. Blige, Anita Baker, and several other renowned R&B artists. It wasn’t long before Dae’s sassy style and pizzazz landed her the opportunity to perform at many of the District’s most established venues such as; Unifest, Georgia Avenue Day, and Black Family Reunion to name a few. Tia Dae being eager and motivated to succeed immediately propelled her to earn a WAMA (Washington Area Music Association) nomination in the same category as Tonya Blunt, Me’Shell NdegeOcello and the legendary Toni Braxton. This enormous accomplishment for the untrained vocalist affirmed her faith to continue to higher heights and deeper depths. She continues to have success on her journey being interviewed by WHUR 96.3 HD radio, winning in the 19th annual Billie Holiday vocal competition in Baltimore, MD, performing at the legendary Blues Alley in Washington, D.C., for two headlining “sold out” shows, and winning “Best Female R&B Artist of the Year” for the Velocity Magazine Awards. All of the winnings and recognition encouraged Dae’s talent as a vocalist but she still wanted more, so she began to write and get in the studio working on her 2nd solo album. Dae often says, “I love ALL music, but I got my own flare to how they should rock”, so her album DAE Collection reflects her love for all races and genders.
