From his dynamic vocal range, a style that isn't confined to any one genre, and having captivating stage presence, Cyril Durant is a singer-songwriter to watch for in the music scene. He’s a classically trained singer, with an unprecedented passion for singing, regardless of the stage it may be on. He went on to receive a BM and MM in Vocal Performance at Georgia Southern University. He also studied Jazz in voice and piano as well. It was during this time when Durant would began to perform frequently with his former group Next Level Ensemble, which is a Fusion Funk/Soul group. Durant’s main claim to the stage is as the front man for the high energy Funk/soul ensemble Those Cats. With that band, Durant has sang, played, and co-wrote music and lyrics on three recording projects; their ep Coffee, Whiskey, and Catnip, their debut album Something more specific, and the bands upcoming sophomore album Eyes Up. They also have many live recording projects and videos as well. With Those Cats, Cyril has had the opportunity to share the stage with national and international touring acts to include The Main Squeeze, The Fritz, Naughty Professor, The Heard, and the band formally known as The Alan Evans Trio.
